Format Information
The
RULES:
Presentation Media
All presentations must be in an electronic format that can be displayed on
a PC, i.e. Powerpoint or PDF format. Presentations will be loaded on to a
single laptop prior to each session, so students must bring a copy of the
presentation and all supporting media (movie files, etc.) on a CD or memory
stick. All presentations will be displayed on the laptop/LCD projector. There
will be an overhead projector for transparency presentations. The presentation
must be submitted at time of registration during the conference. No changes
or additions to the presentations will be allowed beyond this point.
Presentation
Time Limits
Oral presentations (both paper competition and exhibition) at the Region I-NE
Student Conference are scheduled at 30 minute intervals. These 30 minutes include
the time for speaker introduction as well as paper presentation and questions
and answers. The format will be as follows:
Technical and
Exhibition papers:
You will have exactly 25 minutes for your presentation, including 18-20 minutes
for the oral portion and 5-7 minutes for allotted for questions from judges
and the floor. There will be a two minute warning (after 18 minutes of oral
presentation) and you will be cut off at the end of the 20 minutes by the
Session Chair.
Design Teams:
You will also have exactly 25 minutes for your presentation, however this includes
only 15-17 minutes of oral presentation so that there can be more time (8-10
minutes) for questions. There will be a two minute warning (after 15 minutes
of oral presentation) and you will be cut off at the end of the 17 minutes
by the Session Chair.
